Ah, eyelash extensions. Such a blessing, such a luxury. But do you know how far back these beautifying treatments go? Oh, I’m about to drop some knowledge on you
The history of eyelash extensions is as fascinating as it is glamorous. It all began in the early 1900s when Russian-born specialist Anna Taylor created the first extension, which was made from a single strand of human hair. These extensions immediately became popular amongst the wealthy elite, who would use them to enhance their eye shape and add a touch of glamour to their look.
Fast forward to the 1950s and the invention of the first artificial eyelash extensions, which were made from synthetic material. This new material allowed for longer-lasting effects and greater control over the look. These extensions quickly became popular with the film and television industry, and actresses like Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, and Audrey Hepburn, all sported them.
In the late 20th century, eyelash extensions started to become more accessible to the general public. The introduction of semi-permanent and permanent extensions made the treatment more affordable. Because the range of materials used widened, it allowed for a variety of styles and effects to be achieved.
This led to the creation of the current trend of eyelash extensions, which are available in an array of shapes, sizes, and colours. Today, eyelash extensions are a popular beauty treatment and a must-have for many women. Whether you’re looking for a subtle enhancement or a dramatic look, eyelash extensions can help you create your desired look. So, if you’re feeling like you want a change to add a touch of glamour to your look, why not try out some eyelash extensions?
We have a few options for you to choose from Classic, Volume or Hybrid. All are great choices, but how do you know which to pick? Let us help you out.
Classic Eyelash Extensions
This is an ideal option for those looking for a naturally beautiful look, or just wanting to try out Eyelash Extensions. One extension lash is applied to each one of your natural lashes, to enhance the natural lash line with a touch of wow factor. Unfortunately, this option is not suitable if you have sparse lashes.
Volume Eyelash Extensions
These provide you with a fuller, fluffy appearance as fans of lashes are attached to each of your natural lashes. Volume lashes are perfect for those who want very full, dramatic lashes, or have a sparser lash line. These will definitely turn heads and earn you some great compliments!
Hybrid Eyelash Extensions
If you can’t decide, Hybrid lashes are the way to go. This is a 50/50 mix of classic and volume lashes and is a great way to add texture and volume without taking away from your natural beauty. It’s a great choice for those wanting to see a substantial difference, but not be overwhelmed.
Aftercare
Once you have your lashes, don’t touch them for 3 hours, and don’t get them wet for 24 hours. Also, make sure your lashes stay comfortable and clean by brushing them daily and using an oil-free foaming cleanser to remove build-up from your lashes.
You can book your refill at your initial appointment, so you don’t have to stress!
