What Questions you should ask before you get Eyelash Extensions

Eyelash extensions are a great way to achieve the look of long, luscious lashes without having to resort to mascara or those pesky strip lashes. They give you an ‘I woke up like this’ vibe for weeks. But the task of finding a qualified and trustworthy Lash Technician can be a tall order.  We have collated all of the questions we think you should ask when  you research where to have your Adelaide Eyelash Extensions  done!

What kind of eyelash extensions do you use?

It is important to know what type of eyelash extensions your beautician uses before your appointment. Different salons offer different levels of quality and longevity, so you want to make sure you are getting the best lashes for your needs. Ask your beautician about the type of eyelash extensions they use and their experience with them. Here at jeevi Brow Studio we use PBT which is a type of plastic. The reason PBT is used for extensions is because it is resilient to heat, wear and tear and won’t lose its form easily, which is perfect for lash extensions.

Are you certified to apply eyelash extensions?

Eyelash extension application is a delicate process, and you want to make sure your beautician is properly trained and certified in the application of eyelash extensions. It is important that you know they are following the latest safety and hygiene advice!

How long will my appointment take?

Eyelash extensions can take anywhere from 45 minutes to over an hour and a half, depending on the type and number of lashes that you are getting. Before your appointment, ask your beautician how long the application process will take so that you can plan accordingly.

When do I need to get my Eyelash extensions refilled?

You can choose to refill your extensions at any point, but the longer you leave it, the more lashes you will need to have replaced. We base our eyelash extension refill pricing on  1 week, 2 week and 3 week refills, to ensure your lashes can be maintained.

What is the aftercare process?

It is important to know what the aftercare process is for your eyelash extensions. Ask your beautician what  you should do to keep your lashes looking their best. We suggest that you:

  • Avoid getting your eyelash extensions wet; Try not to touch your eyes for at least 3 hours. Try not to get them wet either. Water will cause the bond between your natural lashes and your extensions to become brittle, and this might cause the bond to break or snap.
  • After 24 hours has passed, you must clean your extensions regularly to avoid gunk building up within your natural lashes and your extensions.
  • Do not wear mascara on the top of your lashes;  Mascara can get caught between your lashes and any build-up, which is extremely hard to clean might ruin your lovely lashes
Do you offer any aftercare products to help with the longevity of my lashes?

Any good salon should have products to help you keep those lashes looking fresh for longer. We suggest trying the Max2Lash Sealant throughout the weeks till your next lash appointment will keep your lashes looking luscious, full, and all-around stunning. This helps feed your natural lashes the essential nutrients they need and helps retention, plus it’s oil-free and extension-safe.

Asking these questions before your appointment can help you make sure that you are getting the best service and the best results from your eyelash extensions. Make sure to do your research, ask the right questions, and choose a certified and experienced beautician for your eyelash extension appointment.
